Can't Find or Book Shifts
Shift visibility depends on several factors: Clipboard Score, credentials, location, workplace preferences, and account status. If you're not seeing shifts, check the following in order.
What to check:
- Clipboard Score: Tap "Account," then "Clipboard Score." A low score reduces the number of visible shifts. If your account is restricted (score at zero), only direct workplace invitations are available
- Credentials: Tap "Account" and check for any document alerts or banners. Expired or missing credentials can block booking at specific workplaces
- Location settings: Make sure the app has access to your location. Shifts are filtered by your set location and travel radius
- Filters: Check the filter settings on the shift listing page. You may have a date range, distance, or shift type filter active that's hiding results
- DNR status: If a workplace has issued a Do Not Return, shifts at that workplace won't appear. See Understanding Do Not Return (DNR) Status
Booking Errors
"You must book X shifts" requirement:
Some workplaces set a minimum booking commitment — for example, requiring you to book 4 shifts when you only want 1. This is a workplace-level setting and cannot be changed through the app.
- If you only want a single shift, look for the same workplace on a different date — the commitment requirement may vary
- If you've already committed to multiple shifts and need to cancel some, be aware that cancellations affect the account's Clipboard Score
"Shift no longer available" after tapping "Book":
The shift was booked by someone else between the time you viewed it and tapped "Book." This is common with high-demand shifts. Try refreshing and booking quickly, or enable shift notifications for your preferred workplaces.
"Missing documents" blocking booking:
- Tap the shift listing — it will show which documents are required
- Go to "Account" → "Documents" and upload the missing credentials
- Document approval can take 1–3 business days. The shift may no longer be available after approval
Partial Shifts and Split Shifts
Some workplaces offer partial shifts (shorter than a full shift). If you don't see partial shift options:
- Not all workplaces offer partial shifts — it depends on the workplace's configuration
- Partial shifts may only be available at certain times of day or for specific qualification types
- Contact the Support Team if you see a full shift but want to work only part of it — they can check if partial booking is possible
Shift Calendar and Schedule Issues
Shift not appearing in "Bookings" after confirmation:
- Pull down to refresh the "Bookings" page
- Force-close and reopen the app
- Check your email for a booking confirmation — if you received one, the shift is booked even if the app hasn't synced yet
- If the shift still doesn't appear after 15 minutes, contact the Support Team
Shift disappeared from calendar:
This can happen if:
- The workplace canceled the shift (check notifications for a cancellation message)
- A credential expired and you no longer meet the requirements
- The account was restricted while the shift was booked
Contact the Support Team with the shift date and workplace name if none of these apply.
Workplace Invitations
Even if the account is restricted or you can't see open shifts, workplaces can send you direct invitations.
How invitations work:
- You receive a push notification and in-app alert when invited
- Tap the invitation to view shift details and accept
- Invitations have an expiration — accept promptly
- If you don't see invitation notifications, check your notification settings (device Settings → Clipboard → Notifications)
Technical Issues with Booking
App freezes or crashes when tapping "Book":
- Force-close the app and reopen it
- Check your internet connection
- Update the app to the latest version
- If the crash persists, try booking from a different network (switch Wi-Fi to mobile data)
- If still not working, contact the Support Team with the shift details and a screenshot of the error
Shift map not loading or showing wrong location:
- Check that Location Services are enabled for the Clipboard app
- Force-close and reopen the app
- If the map shows your location incorrectly, step outside briefly to refresh GPS, then reopen the app
- Verify your home address is correct in "Account" → "Profile" — this affects which shifts appear
