What Are the Renewal Requirements for Delaware?

To renew your CNA certification in Delaware, you must meet the following criteria:

Work Requirement:

• At least 64 hours of compensated employment performing nursing or nursing-related services under the supervision of a licensed nurse within the past 24 months

Education Requirement:

• 24 hours of continuing education related to CNA practice within the past 24 months. You can complete CEUs with the state-approved CE provider Relias by following the recertification process on the Delaware CNA Registry & Training website.
• Includes 6 hours of dementia training
• Includes 2 hours of resident or patient abuse prevention, neglect, or mistreatment

How Does the Renewal Process Work?

Your CNA license must be renewed within 30 days before its expiration date.

Online Renewal via Relias Platform:

1. Visit the Delaware CNA Recertification Portal. 
2. Log in using your email address or Delaware CNA Certification Number.
3. On your first login, update your email and create a new password.
4. Purchase the CNA Renewal Package for 25 dollars, which includes all required CE courses.
5. Complete all 24 CE hours included in the package.
6. After completing the courses, fill out the 64 Hours Worked Renewal Form (Course Z64) with your employment details.
7. Submit the form to complete the renewal process.

• 24 hours of in-service training every two years, which must include:

2. Enter your Personal Identifying Information (PII) and click Login.
3. Confirm or update your MQA Services Account email address and click Continue.
4. On your dashboard, select Renew My License once it becomes available (within 90 days of expiration).
5. Complete the renewal application and ensure that all personal information is up to date.
6. Upload documentation showing proof of 8 hours of work and 24 hours of required in-service training.
7. Submit the application for processing.

• Fees: The renewal fee is 55 dollars if submitted before expiration. Late renewals cost 105 dollars, and renewal after 120 days past expiration costs 120 dollars

How Does the Renewal Process Work?

Illinois does not require a renewal form. Your status remains active as long as you meet the work requirement.

Renewal Steps:

2. Confirm that at least 8 consecutive hours of qualifying work within the last 24 months have been reported.

How Does the Renewal Process Work?

Iowa does not have a formal renewal application because CNA certifications do not expire. Instead, your status must be kept active through employer reporting.

Maintaining Active Status on the DCW Registry:

1. Work at least 8 hours in a nursing or nursing-related role within a 24-month period.
2. Have your employer report your employment to the DCW Registry.

1. Log in to your MI-NATES  account and submit a renewal application.

How Does the Renewal Process Work?

Your CNA license must be renewed within 90 days before its expiration date.

If your certification is within 90 days of expiring, you’ll see the option to add an employer in TMU.
For example, if your certification expires on November 1, you may add an employer starting August 2.

Online Renewal via TMU:

1. Log in to your TestMaster Universe (TMU) account or create a new one.
2. Navigate to the Employment tab and click Add Employment.
3. Enter your employment details, including facility name and employment dates.
4. TMU will send an email verification request to your employer.
